Friend,    This Identity Theft Awareness Week, I want to remind Virginians what identity theft can look like and highlight some resources from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to help protect you and your loved ones from this crime.   Some examples of identity theft include: Someone opening a credit card or utility account in your name  Someone using your personal information to get a loan or a job  Someone obtaining access to your medical care  I encourage you to reference the following resources from the FTC: Learn more about identity theft. Find publications about scams, privacy, and credit. Subscribe to the FTC's blog for consumer news and scam alerts. Report identity theft to the FTC and get a personal recovery plan. With multilingual sessions available, please take the time to equip yourself with the knowledge to spot, avoid, and report identity theft appropriately.    Whether you have questions or would like more information, my dedicated staff is ready to help.
