I'm excited to announce that I've redesigned my website. With user-friendly interface, the site is an excellent resource for campaign information. Visit www.brendapogge.com to view the new look!

While you are on the site, don't forget to click on the "Volunteer" tab to volunteer or request yard signs and bumper stickers. We are gearing up for November's election, and I need your help in spreading the word! Please also consider making a financial contribution. Every dollar raised will help promote my campaign efforts. I appreciate all of positive feedback and support I've received, and I look forward to continuing to work on behalf of the residents of the 96th District.
Legislative Activity
Earlier today I participated in the Joint Money Meeting in Richmond. Attendees include member of the House Appropriations, House Finance, and Senate Finance Committees. Afterward, as a member of the House Education Committee, I traveled to Petersburg, where I toured two public schools. I truly enjoyed the opportunity to visit classrooms and interact with teachers.

As Vice Chair of the Education Committee, I have a strong appreciation for the outstanding accomplishments of Virginia's teachers. I'm especially proud to recognize a school in the 96th District, Jamestown High School, for being selected by U.S. News & World Report as one of America's Best High Schools. This well-deserved honor reflects the commitment and hard work of both the students and teachers. We are truly blessed to have excellent schools in our community.
On the Campaign Trail
On Tuesday of this week, I attended a fundraiser for candidates running for the Williamsburg-James City County School Board. Sandy Young, Petra Nadal, and Holly Taylor are respectively seeking the Berkeley, Roberts, and Stonehouse seats on the School Board. Campaigning for local elected office requires a strong commitment of time and energy, and I look forward to supporting these ladies as well as all of the Republican nominees for local office. See you on the campaign trail!

Support your local Republican Committee and candidates!

_________________________________________

Dear NorthernVirginiaGOP.com Agenda Newsletter Subscriber,

As the weather gets cooler and the election gets closer, the annual tradition of Monday Night Football begins again.

How can we bring the Election and Monday Night Football together in one fun package?

If you support the grassroots efforts of the NOVA GOP PAC, I hope you will join us on September 21st from 8-11 PM at Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery at Ballston Mall for the 19th Annual NOVA GOP PAC Monday Night Football Fundraiser. We'll enjoy good food, great fun and watch the Colts vs. the Jets at on Monday Night Football.

BUT EVEN (ESPECIALLY!) IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND, PLEASE SEND A DONATION to show you are behind us!

If you'd like to buy some $20 tickets for us to offer to deserving volunteers, just send in your donation and let us know! Also feel free to offer them to volunteers you know and just send us the names so we can put them on our list at the door.

We'll be sending out thousands of invitations, and they won't be complete without your name on the top as a Host Committee supporter. Sponsorships are $1,000, $500, $250 and $100. Tickets are only $20!

We've been spreading the word about our Republican message and energizing grassroots volunteers and voters through our NorthernVirginiaGOP.com Agenda newsletter (over 30,000 subscribers strong), our popular website, our weekly cable TV show (on 40+ stations!) as well as our distribution of "No Tax Hike" and "Republicans United for Tax Relief" stickers, literature and more.

It takes money, but because of our very low overhead, we can provide one of the biggest bangs for YOUR buck around!

In order to put your name ON THE INVITATION as a member of our Host Committee, please make sure I have your donation by Tuesday, September 15th! Or, please call (703) 502-0161 to let us know your check, made out to NOVA GOP PAC, is on the way. End August Recess

Click here to visit my website

I thought you might be interested in my recent thoughts about Congress taking an August "recess" when so much work remains to be done. The following appeared in the Congressional Record on July 29, 2015:

SPEECH OF

HON. ROBERT J. WITTMAN
OF VIRGINIA
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
WEDNESDAY, JULY 29, 2015

  • Mr. WITTMAN. Mr. Speaker, I am disappointed that Congress plans to adjourn for August recess without addressing critical issues important to the American people.
  • I appreciate that district work periods allow Members to visit with folks back in their community, but it is now becoming a habit for Congress to abandon a long ``to do'' list in the rush to get out of town. This August is no exception.
  • Unfortunately, Congress has not done its job. It has not completed the work of the people; including budgeting and critical national security legislation. Our constituents expect us to stay and finish the job.
  • Let's clear our schedules and--in the strongest possible terms--request the Speaker to call Congress back to Washington for the month of August and to finish the business of the people.
  • As I have said in previous years on the eve of August recess, I'm prepared to stay in Washington as long as it takes.
  • These issues are too important to delay.

I have asked the Speaker to call the House back into session. I am ready to complete the work of the people.

Sincerely,

Rob
