January is traditionally a quiet month in the Historic Triangle, but a variety of events are still on tap this week to help fend off the winter doldrums.

The live music scene will feature concerts by Barry Manilow's Wardrobe, Zack Salsberry and The Three Jolly Coachmen. A candlelit organ recital is scheduled to be held at Bruton Parish Church.

Several informative presentations are also in the works. The Virginia Capital Trail Foundation will host Cap Trail 101 at James City County Library, and award-winning local chocolatier Mary Griffith will discuss the history of chocolate at the Stryker Center.

Other highlights include a free Neighborhood Winter Carnival at the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center and two performances of Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Kimball Theatre.

As you may know, local meteorologists are tracking a snow and ice storm that could bring significant impacts to all of Virginia this weekend.

We were hoping to have more clarity about the storm's expected timing before sending out this newsletter. As of now, it seems the effects will begin to be felt across our area late Saturday.

Some weekend activities will likely be canceled or postponed due to inclement weather. We recommend following event organizers' websites or social media pages for updates.

See below for our curated guide to things to do around the Historic Triangle, Jan. 22 - 25.
