Grace Episcopal Church, 111 Church Street, Yorktown, VA 23690

Originally built in 1697, this little church survived the Revolutionary War, the Yorktown fire of 1814, the Civil War, and still serves an active Episcopal Congregation over 300 years later.  The Nelson Family, including Thomas Nelson, signer of the Declaration of Independence, is buried in the churchyard. 757-898-3261

Yorktown Monument

Pack a picnic supper, bring a lawn chair or blanket, and enjoy the performance by these highly trained musicians under a canopy of stars at 7:30 pm.  Enjoy a pre-concert performance by The Fifes and Drums of York Town.  Yorktown Victory Monument.  Free. 757-890-3500.

We've stepped things up a bit, literally!  This year's concert series features three Fridays of toe tappin' jazz followed by two Fridays of knee slappin' country.  Friday, September 10 featured group is Super Jazz Band featuring Conni Mann. Bring lawn chairs and blankets.

We've stepped things up a bit, literally!  This year's concert series features three Fridays of toe tappin' jazz followed by two Fridays of knee Slappin' country.  Friday, September 17 featured group is Williamsburg Classic Swing Orchestra. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating.

Yorktown Battlefield

Volunteers depicting a Continental artillery regiment demonstrate the firing of a Revolutionary War cannon and discuss their role during the 1781 Siege of Yorktown.  Firings at 12:15, 1:15, 2:15, and 3:15pm.  Admission. $. For information, call 757- 898-2410

Yorktown Victory Center

Join the artillery crew at Yorktown Victory Center's re-created Continental Army encampment to learn the steps in preparing an artillery piece for firing.  Then, step back, cover your ears and watch as interpreters actually fire the replica cannon or mortar.  Occurs twice daily.

Virginia has become well-known in the world of fine wines. Sample wines from premiere wineries throughout the Commonwealth. Sunday, October 3 – Reenactment of the York Town, Virginia Tea Party of 1774, 1 pm. Activities include a portrayal of Thomas Nelson, Jr., performances by the York River Symphony Orchestra Ensemble and enjoy a performance by The Fifes and Drums of York Town, and a re-enactment play. Riverwalk Landing.

Saturday, October 9 - Yorktown Market Days and Fall Festival Celebration, 8 am to 3 pm. The 2nd Fall Festival will be held on the same day as our Farmer's Market with entertainment, delicious food and local art.  The Fifes and Drums of York Town will perform at the opening of the market and live entertainment will be provided by The Delvers. Throughout the day there will be hayrides, a pumpkin patch and children's hay maze, face painting, and other children's activities.  Free. 757-890-3500.
