INDEPENDENCE DAY CHANGES FOR GARBAGE AND RECYCLING COLLECTIONS

 

There will be no garbage collection on Monday, July 4, 2011. Garbage collections will instead be delayed by one day for the week. Monday collections will be on Tuesday, Tuesday collections will be on Wednesday, and so forth. Friday collections will be completed on Saturday, July 9^th.

In addition, all operations located at the York County Waste Management Center, 145 Goodwin Neck Road, Yorktown, will be closed on Monday, July 4^th in honor of the Independence Day Holiday. This includes the Administrative Office, scales, transfer station operations, citizen drop-off areas for recycling and/or garbage disposal and the VPPSA Composting Facility. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, July 5^th.

Recycling collections normally scheduled for Monday, July 4th will be collected on Saturday, July 2nd.   If Monday, July 4^th is your regular day for recycling, please remember to have your materials at the curb on Saturday, July 2nd by 7:00 a.m.  to ensure collection. Recycling collections for Tuesday thru Friday will be collected as normal.
