Locals and visitors alike will have plenty of events to check out across the Historic Triangle this week.
The Sail Yorktown Festival is set to kick off at the Yorktown waterfront on Friday, June 12, and will run through Sunday, June 14.
The maritime celebration - an official Sail250 event - will feature tall ships and military vessels from all over the world.
Highlights of the event include deck tours, living history programs and concerts featuring Broadway star Lexi Lawson and the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra. Admission is free.
On the local live music scene, free concerts will feature Klaxton Brown (New Town), Celeste Kellogg (Port Warwick), WonderLand (Yorktown) and Anthony Rosano (Tech Center).
Other notable events include the Juneteenth Freedom Fest at Freedom Park and Family Health and Fitness Day at James City County Recreation Center.

National Park Service Free Entrance Day | Colonial National Historical Park | In honor of Flag Day and the president's birthday, the National Park Service will waive admission fees for Yorktown Battlefield and Colonial National Historical Park. (Note: Preservation Virginia will continue to charge its own $15 entrance fee for admission to portions of Historic Jamestowne).

Blackbeard Festival | Downtown Hampton | Hampton will welcome tall ships to its harbor during the Blackbeard Pirate Festival. Step into the 18th century as pirate reenactors, led by the infamous Blackbeard, take over downtown Hampton. Suffs: The Musical | Jamestown High School | Students from Jamestown, Lafayette and Warhill present the first WJCC All District Musical. "Suffs: The Musical" is a Tony Award-winning show about the women' suffrage movement in the U.S. and retells the journey of women like Alice Paul and Ida B. Prince will discuss the Great American Birthday Quilt collaborative project, which invites participants from across the country to craft a lasting tribute to America’s story.

Early Music Concert: 1776 | Bruton Parish Church | 7 pm | Williamsburg Baroque is proud to present this award-winning program which recently was featured at the 2026 Bloomington Early Music Festival. The program consists of a display of instrumental music from the early decades of the United States. Tickets, available here, are $25 for adults and $10 for youth and students.
