York County fire officials lift county-wide burn ban

York County Fire officials have lifted thecounty-wide burn ban enacted earlier this spring. 

 

The combination of recent rainfall coupled with the growth of grass, plants and trees have reduced the risk of uncontrolled wildfire spread.

 

While this ban has been lifted, residents must continue to comply with all applicable state and local open burning regulations, which are available on the department's Web site at www.yorkcounty.gov/fire. 

 

For additional information, contact the York County Department of Fire and Life Safety at 757-890-3600 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 5 p.m.
