View in browser  |  Get our newsletters Good Morning, Pennsylvania MONDAY, JULY 24, 2023 • TODAY'S WEATHER A fast arrival Our colleagues at the Perry County Times wrote about a special delivery done by a county assistant district attorney.   Almost a month ago, Perry County ADA Clay Merris and his wife, Miranda, welcomed their third child – in the parking lot of a church. Miranda said her contractions increased quickly at their Landisburg home, but the family thought they'd make the drive to UPMC Carlisle before the baby's arrival.   They didn't. But the baby girl was delivered safely as her parents talked on the phone to a midwife. Baby, mother, father and two older siblings are doing well after the 3 a.m. surprise.    In fact, the mom of three said this delivery and recovery was the easiest she'd experienced. She and the baby spent one night in the hospital.   We love a story with a happy ending.   Now, let's take a look at this morning's headlines. Search the database Read more Police reports Two dead: A York County woman was found dead and her husband injured in their home Sunday, police said. The man, who later died at a hospital, killed his wife before shooting himself, police said.   Woman killed: A woman was found dead early Saturday in Harrisburg as police responded to a report of shots fired. She was identified as a 21-year-old who left behind four children, the youngest 6 months old. The chain is testing a cart payment system similar to one used by Aldi discount grocery chain.   Big sandwich: "We think it tastes like comfort," owners of Get Smok'd BBQ restaurant in Cumberland County say of their brisket sandwich, joining our Best Eats list.   2nd Asian eatery: Jasmine Chinese Kitchen is opening at the former La Bella Sicilia Bakery in Hampden Township.
