Black lights and bugs this Saturday night at New Quarter Park

Experience the world of nighttime bug watching!
Members of the Historic Rivers Chapter, Virginia Master Naturalists, will set up white sheets and black lights to attract spiders, moths, beetles and all sorts of bugs this Saturday, July 14, at New Quarter Park. The nighttime bug watch will be held from 8:30 to 10 p.m.
Bring a flashlight or portable black light as well as a small glass jar and magnifying glass for closer looks. Master Naturalists will be on-hand with field guides to help you identify and learn more about the creatures of the night. Bring your cameras with flashes for photo opportunities.
For more information, call York County Parks and Recreation at 757-890-3513. In the case of inclement weather, call 890-5840 on Saturday for updated information.
