INDEPENDENCE DAY CHANGES FOR GARBAGE AND RECYCLING COLLECTIONS
There will be no curbside garbage or recycling collections on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Garbage collections will instead be delayed by one day, starting on Wednesday. Wednesday collections will be on Thursday, Thursday collections will be on Friday, and Friday collections will be completed on Saturday, July 7th. Recycling collections normally scheduled for Wednesday, July 4th will be collected on Saturday, July 7th. If Wednesday, July 4th is your regular day for recycling, please remember to have your materials at the curb on Saturday, July 7th by 7:00 a.m. to ensure collection. Recycling collections for Thursday and Friday will be collected as normal.
In addition, all operations located at the York County Waste Management Center, 145 Goodwin Neck Road, Yorktown, will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th in honor of the Independence Day Holiday. This includes the Administrative Office, scales, transfer station operations, citizen drop-off areas for recycling and/or garbage disposal and the VPPSA Composting Facility. Normal operations will resume on Thursday, July 5th.
