Administrative offices will be closed on Monday, December 24, Tuesday, December 25, Monday, December 31, and Tuesday, January 1, 2013, in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays. Operations at the Waste Management Center -including the transfer station, citizen drop-off, recycling center and the VPPSA Compost Facility will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. All operations will be open on Christmas Eve from 7:00 am until 12:00 pm, with the exception of the VPPSA Compost Facility which will be open from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. All operations at the Waste Management Center will be open during regular hours, (7:00 am until 4:00 pm, with the exception of the VPPSA Compost Facility which is from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm) on New Years Eve, December 31, 2012.
There will be no curbside garbage or recycling collections on Tuesday, December 25. Garbage collections normally scheduled for Tuesday will occur on Wednesday; Wednesday's collections will be Thursday and so forth until all collections are completed on Saturday, December 29. Recycling collections scheduled for Tuesday, December 25 will be occur on Saturday, December 22. All other recycling collections will occur on the regularly scheduled day.

Garbage collections normally scheduled for Tuesday will occur on Wednesday; Wednesday's collection will be on Thursday and so forth until all collections are completed on Saturday, January 5. Recycling collections scheduled for Tuesday, January 1 will occur on Saturday, December 29. All other recycling collections will occur on the regular scheduled day.
Please make sure all trash containers and recycling bins are roadside by 7:00 am on the scheduled day to ensure collection.
Christmas trees will be collected the week of January 7, 2013. Please make sure your trees are roadside by 7:00 am Monday, January 7 and they will be collected sometime during the week. You may also drop off your tree at the VPPSA compost facility located at 145 Goodwin Neck Road. Remember to remove all ornaments, decorations and lights before putting tree out for pickup or dropping it off. Please call the Waste Management Center at 890-3780 if you have any questions.
