This Week's Top Pick
Parades are a spectacular joy during the holiday season that many look forward to watching, but this year everyone is invited to be part of the fun! This Saturday, December 15, after purchasing fresh produce, baked goods and locally produced art from the Yorktown Market Days, become a part of the Toyland Parade along Riverwalk Landing. Jump in with a decorated stroller or wagon or even yourself! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be greeting guests, The Fifes and Drums of York Town will be leading the parade, and the Polar Express will be chugging along.

This Weekend's Top Getaway
Take a break from the holiday shopping, gift wrapping and decorating to spend an old fashioned weekend in Madison County. Your spirits will be immediately warmed by the rolling hills and valleys, the bountiful orchards and the pristine views of the beautiful nature that's found here. Bundle up and explore the Shenandoah National Park on foot, a peaceful way to rid your mind of the hustle and bustle. If you feel so inclined to do a little shopping, browse the fine collection of treasures found at The Blue Rooster featuring antiques and art, collectables and specialty candles. Continue the blissfully rustic experience at Brightwood Vineyard and Farm, a 100-acre family farm that practices sustainability and produces organic produce and free range eggs.

This Week's Recipe
One of our favorite ways to spend the holiday season is in the kitchen cooking up special treats made with love and wrapping them as gifts. Friends and family will be wowed and delighted to receive these White Chocolate Peppermint Mousse Cups. Making them is part of the fun, requiring bakers to blow up balloons and dip them in chocolate to form the edible shells. Melt-in-your-mouth, rich and creamy mousse makes these cute confections worth devouring at once, and a sprinkle of crushed candy cane leaves a minty afterthought.

This Week's Drink
Remember those countless summer nights spent sharing stories around the campfire and making s'mores? Now you can have this same experience as an adult with a delicious concoction titled Gimme S'more. Patience here is key--the Graham Cracker Liquor (which you'll be making yourself) needs to sit for a few days in order for the flavors to properly meld. Add a little brandy and some hot cocoa and you'll be fondly remembering those campfire days in no time. Don't forget to top with a marshmallow that's been roasted on the stove!
