March 1, 2013

FOR RELEASE AT WILL

Join the NASA/Langley Exchange Skywatchers at New Quarter Park on Saturday, March 16, when they set up their telescopes at the park and invite the public for viewing from 8 to 10 p.m. Club members will be observing the Moon, Jupiter, and the Orion Nebula. Early arrivals are welcome, beginning at 7:30, to talk to the astronomers as they set up their equipment. Bring high-quality binoculars since the Moon can also be viewed well through them.
New Quarter Park is located in upper York County between Cheatham Annex and the Queens Lake neighborhood. Follow the Colonial Parkway to the Queens Lake exit and turn right at the bottom of the ramp. Travel a short distance and turn onto Lakeshead Drive. Follow Lakeshead for two miles to the park gate, then one more mile to the parking lot and park office.
For more information, call York County Parks and Recreation at 890-3513 or New Quarter Park at 890-5840.
