The list hasn't changed significantly over the past couple years. (It has changed over the decades, though. When was the last time you met a baby Thelma or Elmer?)   Top 5 baby names for girls are Olivia, Emma, Amelia, Sophia and Charlotte, in order. Olivia was also No. 1 in 2022.    For boys, it's Noah, Liam, Oliver, Mateo and Elijah. Last year, Liam was No. 1.   Now, let's take a look at this morning's headlines. The debate in the agricultural community could have a far-reaching impact on American meat consumers and Pennsylvania farmers. See also: Dog licenses in Pa. will cost more in 2024   Safe joints: A report released today looks at success rates for knee replacements, hip replacements and spinal fusions at Pennsylvania hospitals. It names names, listing all the hospitals that do the procedures, and whether their results are worse, better or the same as average. Arizona is off to the World Series vs. the Texas Rangers. Read more Halloween Corn, but candy: The Halloween debate over candy corn is on. People either love or hate its waxy texture and sugary punch. "Candy corn is objectively kind of gross, but that's what makes it good," a comedian explains.   What to wear: As many as 80% of Americans say they'll be dressing up for Halloween this year. Among the most popular costumes are those inspired by the "Barbie" and "Top Gun" movies and the "Wednesday" TV show.   Trick or treat: The dates and times of trick-or-treating aren't actually on Halloween in every central Pa. town. For many places, the door-to-door fun will be held tomorrow. It employs 1,000 people.    Children's museum: A museum of hands-on exhibits and self-guided activities is opening this year in Hershey, with the slogan "pretend play, real learning." The Hershey Children's Museum is designed for children 8 and younger.   City office space: A Harrisburg-based law firm is looking into selling its headquarters, valued at $11 million, near the Susquehanna River. McNees, Wallace and Nurick doesn't need a large building anymore because of hybrid work, according to a company spokesperson. Read more Advertisement Politics We the people: Public schools would be required to display the opening lines of the U.S. and Pennsylvania constitutions near their building entrances under legislation that won state Senate passage yesterday.    Armed school security: Pennsylvania lawmakers are considering requiring every public school building to have a trained armed security officer present during school hours.   Signs of things to come: Election results in Philly and Pittsburgh next month could show how voters feel about progressive candidates and issues such as abortion and crime ahead of the 2024 election.
