YCRC Update - Sept. minutes, resolution & petition form, coming events, 3 Oct mtg

Greetings, Fellow Republicans!

è Attached please find a copy of the YCRC Sept. mtg. minutes to review before tomorrow’s 7 PM meeting at York High School’s auditorium. Also attached is the Resolution with a Petition Form approved at the Sept. meeting for Cong. Rob Wittman. Some copies will be available at tomorrow’s meeting printed on YCRC letterhead for you to use to collect signatures to turn in at the 7 November YCRC meeting. Feel free to print off extra copies from the attachments to begin collecting signatures from concerned citizens and visitors.

è Unfortunately, our Oct. meeting’s scheduled guest speaker from the Cuccinelli Campaign has had a schedule change and cannot attend. (I hope you will be able to visit the NN HQ on Warwick, just south of Oyster Pt. Rd. today to meet with Ken Cuccinellli at 7 PM! (Many thanks to Exec. Vice Chairman Chad Green for some quick calls on Monday to secure an excellent presentation for tomorrow’s meeting!)

è In keeping with the October Meeting Theme - Preparing for Election Day, our guest speaker will be Mrs. Ginger Crapse, 2nd Vice Chairman of the Williamsburg Republican Committee, with a presentation we all can use these last few weeks until Election Day:

How to Convince Others to Vote Our Way Without Being Confrontational! The techniques she will be teaching us use a process of active listening with questions back that help the person swing over to our side…coming to that conclusion on their own. Ginger has had success in turning hard-core liberals over to support conservative candidates & issues by using these techniques! I know I’m looking forward to learning how to do this to help us reach victory this November!

è There has been some confusion with potential new members who receive the YCRC Membership Application form that all they have to do is fill it out and send in a check to join, not realizing they have to personally appear twice at a meeting: to be introduced one month and then voted on at the next meeting they attend. To help alleviate this confusion, I created a brochure-style backside (using MS Publisher) for the application form that gives the Republican Creed, what YCRC does, and the steps to join us. Both the YCRC application form and the brochure-style backside are attached in pdf format for you to print on one sheet (one document on each side) and pass along to friends who would like to join the YCRC. Once you print them, tri-fold them with the brochure side out and the form inside to pass to others. A few will be available at tomorrow’s meeting.

è WE NEED YOU to help achieve VICTORY next month through « Phone Banking, « Door Knocking, « Neighborhood Gatherings, « Letters to the Editor, « Help at HQ, « Friday Sign Waves along Rt. 17 @ HQ, « Poll Worker @ YC Precincts on Election Day, etc. PLEASE SIGN UP AT TOMORROW’S YCRC MEETING! There’s something for everyone to do – you can choose your favorite way to volunteer!

Stop by the YC HQ during daily operating hours to volunteer: Mon. – Sat., 9 AM – 9 PM and Sunday, 2-6 PM! Stop by the HQ TODAY to get yard signs, bumper stickers, and lit about our candidates to help you get their names out and answer any questions from potential supporters! Respond to this email to let me know what you’d like to do if you can’t attend the meeting! J

I look forward to seeing you all at tomorrow’s YCRC meeting! (If you’re attending Del. Brenda Pogge’s York County fundraiser at the Long’s tomorrow, remember to come to the YCRC meeting after you visit with Brenda!)

For God and Country,

Lynda

On September 25, 1789, Congress passed the Bill of Rights. The First Amendment Right of Free Speech is the cornerstone of our Republic. Today our cherished Free Speech rights are under assault.

The 56 Islamic states that make up the
Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are attempting to pass UN Resolution 16/18.  This resolution criminalizes speech considered offensive to a religion. Any speech can be labeled ‘hate speech’ if someone simply declares it offensive to his/her religion. The current Obama administration has indicated a willingness to sign the resolution in the UN.

Starting this week, ACT! for America Chapters all across the country are hosting Free Speech events.

On the Peninsula we are hosting an event on Saturday, October 12, 9 AM at

Angelo's Steak and Pancake House 755 J Clyde Morris Blvd. Newport News, VA 23601

      9:00 Check in & order meal, 9:30 Presentation, 10:30 Q&A

Please order breakfast, which will be from a limited menu at a set price of $12.

A minimum $5 donation is requested to help defray expenses and will be collected at the door.

Thank you!

Seating is limited and registration is required by clicking HERE.  Please provide your name(s), city/county, and the names and email addresses of any guests.

Our program will feature two short videos "Silent Conquest" and "UN Resolution 16/18 - What You need to Know."

Learn about UN Resolution 16/18 and the OIC’s goal to criminalize all speech critical of Islamic related topics. In Europe, individuals (including an ACT! chapter leader!) have already been charged under Islamic blasphemy laws because they dared to speak the truth. It will happen here if you do nothing! Don't let the UN take away your right of Free Speech!
