York County Extension Office Offers
FREE On-Site Pruning Clinics

February (a dormant month) is the best time to prune ornamentals. By pruning, you improve the plant's health, thus reducing the needs for pesticides and improving water quality. The York County office of the Virginia Cooperative Extension is offering free pruning clinics to assist homeowners through hands-on learning.
 
Pruning Ornamental Trees & Shrubs
 
*     Saturday, February 4,   10 a.m. – Noon at Grafton True Value Hardware (Rt. 17)
*     Saturday, February 11, 10 a.m. – Noon at Ken Matthews Garden Center (Rt. 17)
 
Register at ex199@vt.edu or by calling 890-4940.  Be sure to reference the pruning clinic you would like to attend and leave your name, address and phone number.
