Timothy Seaman to perform December 9; York County offices close for Thanksgiving

     The Gallery at York Hall will host local musician Timothy Seaman on Sunday, December 9, from 1 to 4 p.m. playing the hammered dulcimer for three hours of holiday music, Civil War era music, and much more. The Gallery carries all of Seaman's CDs. Seaman will be signing CDs purchased, upon request. 
     Acoustic soloist Timothy Seaman, a proud native of West Virginia, has lived in Virginia since 1956 and in Williamsburg since 1970. An English graduate of the College of William & Mary, a four-summer backpacking instructor as a Philmont Ranger, and a veteran of nineteen years of school teaching, he has continually been involved in music and has made it his sole endeavor since 1994.
     The Gallery at York Hall is located at 301 Main Street in Historic Yorktown and is a cooperative effort between the Celebrate Yorktown Committee and York County. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. through December 2012.   Admission is free.

     Garbage collection normally scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 22, will be collected on Friday, Nov. 23. Garbage collection normally scheduled for Friday, Nov. 23, will be collected Saturday, Nov. 24.
     Recycling collection normally scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 22, will be collected on Saturday, Nov. 24. Those residents affected by this scheduling shift should remember to place recycling bins at the curb by 7 a.m. on Nov. 24.
