Senior Center of York to offer new evening exercise program

The Senior Center of York will offer an upbeat 11-week Zumba exercise class with Instructor Melvinia Simon from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, from May 2 through July 18. The program will be held at the Senior Center and will cost $33 per participant. Anyone at least 55 years of age may register as well as couples with a spouse younger than 55. Zumba is a fun and rhythmic Columbian dance fitness program that involves dance and aerobic elements to a variety of music including samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, flamenco and hip hop. 

To sign up, please complete a registration form at the Senior Center of York, 5314 George Washington Memorial Highway (Washington Square Shopping Center), or at the York County Parks and Recreation office located at 100 County Drive in Grafton. Checks should be made payable to "Treasurer, County of York." Registration Forms and checks may also be mailed to the Senior Center's address (5314 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, VA, 23692) or to York County Parks and Recreation, P.O. Box 532, Yorktown, Virginia 23690. Money orders and credit card payments may also be accepted at the Parks and Recreation office.
