Looking for new and exciting events to enjoy with your family and friends this year? Then be sure to pick up a copy of the 2013 Historic Yorktown Events, Festivals, and Activities Calendar, which is packed with information for the entire year. Among the special events returning this year are Yorktown Market Days, Celebrate Yorktown Committee Grace Church Summer Concert Series, and the Civil War weekend.
Some additional returning favorites include the 8th Annual "Shagging on the Riverwalk" Beach Music concert series, Yorktown Art Stroll, Yorktown Day Celebration, the 9th Annual "Rhythms on the Riverwalk" jazz and country fall concert series and the Yorktown Wine Festival.
New events this year include "Yorktown's Hidden Treasures" Garden Stroll and The Poor Potter of Yorktown Pottery Show and Sale, both occurring the first weekend in May. The Watermen's Museum will also host a new event, Battle of the Surveyor Commemoration, June 13-16.
The 2013 season concludes with the annual Yorktown Celebrates Christmas events including a Holiday Open House weekend and two full weekends of family fun and holiday traditions with the Tree Lighting, Christmas Market on Main Street, Lighted Boat Parade, Cookies with Santa, Toyland Parade and Breakfast with Santa.
The event calendar is published by York County Tourism Development. Complimentary copies of the 2013 Event Calendar are available at The Gallery at York Hall, 301 Main Street, at the corner of Main and Ballard Streets and at York County Parks and Recreation, 100 County Drive, and at the Public Information Office at 224 Ballard Street.
