Annual Senior Health & Safety Fair, Friday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Be sure to mark this important annual event on your calendar. Come and take advantage of the many free health screenings including cholesterol, blood pressure, weight and height screenings, and a diabetes risk assessment provided by Sentara Community Health and Prevention. Scrapbooking & Spring Greeting Cards, Monday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to noon. Join us as Cathy Fowler of Creative Memories shows how to make beautiful cards and assists you with your scrapbook. You can also enjoy using the Cricut machine, which helps to design your cards. These cards and your personalized scrapbook create lasting memories and make wonderful gifts for your loved ones. Note: Please limit to four cards.
Annual Tea, Wednesday, April 18 at 1 p.m. "Presidential Marriages." Ms. Feather Schwartz Foster, an author and amateur presidential historian, will discuss the dynamics of the marriages of Ulysses S. Grant and William Howard Taft, and the encouragement and support given by their wives Julia and Nellie to help them reach the White House. Ms. Foster will be available for book signing. Light refreshments will be served. Registration for this program will conclude on April 16 or until space is full.
"Growing Vegetables in Containers," Thursday, April 19 at 10 a.m. Learn to grow your own vegetables with York County Extension Agent Dan Nortman. The proper use of containers and how to grow just about any kind of vegetables are topics that will be discussed. April Birthday Bash, Friday, April 20 at 1 p.m. Come relive the memories and happy days with the always fun and highly energetic Wayne King. Mr. King and his side kick Katherine will entertain us with a variety of music from the 50's and 60's including Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis, to name a few. Remember, you do not have to be celebrating a birthday to attend. Cake provided by Humana and beverages will be served.
AARP Driver Safety Program, April 30 & May 1. This program is designed for drivers age 50 or better, and will take place on Monday, April 30 from 12:30 – 4:45 p.m. and Tuesday, May 1 from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. The cost for this two-day program is now $12 for members of AARP and $14 for non-members. Computer General Use. The computers are available for general use Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless the lab is reserved for programmed activities. Currently, classes are held on Tuesdays in the lab. To use the computers you must sign in at the
Dining Club. Want to meet new people, have fun and enjoy a midday meal? The Dining Club meets at the
