York Libraries to be closed Sunday, April 8

The York County Public Library System will be closed on Sunday, April 8, 2012, in observance of Easter.

 

The Tabb and Yorktown Libraries will reopen at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 9.

Visit the Tabb Library at 100 Long Green Blvd., Yorktown, VA 23693 or the Yorktown Library at 8500 George Washington Memorial Hwy., Yorktown, VA 23692. Library hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.

York Libraries now offering eBooks

The York County Public Library has expanded its services with downloadable eBooks from OverDrive.

 

Library card holders can check out and download digital books anytime, anywhere by visiting the library's website, www.yorkcounty.gov/library.

 

Users may browse the library's eBook collection, check out with a valid library card and download digital titles to your PC, Mac, Kindle and many mobile devices. Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including Sony Reader, NOOK and many others. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees.

 

This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free with your library card. To get started, visit www.yorkcounty.gov/library and click on the eBooks link. With hundreds of popular fiction and nonfiction titles to choose from, the new adult eBook collection is guaranteed to have something for everyone.
