Board seeks applicants to regional board; Planning Commission work session

 

Planning Commission Work Session on the Draft Comprehensive Plan

The York County Planning Commission will hold a work session at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, for the purpose of discussing the draft update of the Comprehensive Plan titled Charting the Course to 2035: The County of York Comprehensive Plan. The work session will take place in the East Room of York Hall, located at 301 Main Street in historic Yorktown.
The Comprehensive Plan is the long-range plan for the physical development of the county, and Section 15.2-2230 of the Code of Virginia requires that it be reviewed at least once every five years. A five-year update of the Plan has been prepared and is currently under review by the Planning Commission. The draft Plan and the work session agenda material can be downloaded from the York County Planning Division web site at www.yorkcounty.gov/planning.
All Planning Commission meetings and work sessions are open to the public.

York Supervisors Seek Applicants for the
Colonial Community Criminal Justice Board

     The York County Board of Supervisors is currently seeking applications for future vacancies from county citizens interested in serving on the Colonial Community Criminal Justice Board. The Colonial Community Criminal Justice Board serves as a regional advisory board to six local government bodies and is responsible for examing, evaluating, recommending, and implementing improvements in the criminal justice system.  The Board meets quarterly.     York County citizens interested in applying for appointment to the Colonial Community Criminal Justice Board may obtain an application at the County Administrator's Office at 224 Ballard Street in Yorktown, or by calling 890-3320. Applications may also be obtained and filed by using the county website. Upon entering the website www.yorkcounty.gov, select "Boards and Commissions" and then "Submit an Application."
