HELP NEEDED FOR 5TH ANNIVERSARY YORKTOWN COLONIAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

Hi Guys!

Most of you by now should have received your email invitations (that is, the first blast of about five of them) for this year’s 5th Anniversary Yorktown Colonial Christmas Party.”  This annual shindig has become special because it has been specifically for the many hard-working grassroots conservative groups and individuals from Hampton Roads to Northern Virginia and now across the state.

It has become an anticipated major social event as one of the few opportunities throughout the year that we conservatives can actually get together, for once, just to enjoy the Spirit of the Holidays and have a good time.

But you know, it is more than that, as I intended it to be. It is a most important and even critical networking opportunity for us all. For all the tax groups, Tea Party chapters, Second Amendment groups, pro-life groups, liberty organizations and the others out there, this is your chance to meet, discover and bond with your old friends and allies … and even more importantly … to make NEW friends and allies.

Every one of you who have been here before can expect to see plenty of friends you already know. But the real opportunity is that there are always plenty of new faces that you do not know. Therein lies your chance to meet new conservative activists, make new friends and allies, and most importantly, strengthen your own efforts to accomplish your particular goals.

But I need a little help, friends. This party has gotten bigger every year. I had no idea it would take off like this. Those of you who know me know well my intense reluctance for asking for anything. NO, I’M NOT GOING TO ASK YOU FOR MONEY!!! Had you worried there for a second, didn’t I?

I started out asking elected officials for some small financial contributions because they would get publicity from this and they had “campaign funds.” But I don’t want to do that anymore. Don’t get me wrong. If they are willing to help a little, I’ll certainly appreciate their contributions. But this event isn’t just about them. It is for and about YOU! This event connects them directly with you!

I’ve been doing this for five years now pretty much by myself, with some greatly appreciated help from a few valued friends. But it has become expensive as well as a whole heck of a lot of work! I do need to raise some funds, but NO, I’M STILL NOT ASKING YOU FOR  MONEY!!! But I have in fact decided to place a donation jar out on the table at the entrance this year for voluntary contributions.” There is nothing I dread worse than asking anyone for money … or anything else, for that matter.

But I am asking NOW that if any of you might being willing to contribute a covered dish food item, it would enormously appreciated by my ever-shrinking checking account. A crockpot of cocktail wieners or meatballs, a plate of cookies or a cake (already sliced), a mixed fruit tray, a cheese ball with crackers, chips with dip, fudge brownies, or whatever! Some of you ladies are incredible cooks and have something you like to prepare that you ARE REALLY GOOD AT!! Well, if you want a chance to show it off, here is your chance!!!

If anyone has a large capacity coffee maker, I could really use one of those. I have cups, creamer, spoons and sweetener. I would need you to bring and make the coffee. I won’t have the time to do that. I’ll be running around like a chicken with its head cut off … as usual.

If you don’t cook or want to buy anything, and you might be willing to contribute a little of your physical help moving things around, that would be great as well. Again, I really need the help.

This won’t be at my home this year, but up the street at the Old Port Cove Clubhouse, contributed by York Supervisor Tom Shepperd. So I need help not only with the food prep, but with loading everything out of my house into cars and trucks, transporting it over to the clubhouse, loading the stuff in, and then setting it all up. Then I need to pack up at the end of the night, load it all back out, and then bring it back to my house at the end of the night (10 to 11pm). For that I need a few good men.

Since this is for the benefit of us all, and for the conservative movement, I’m hoping to build more of a group effort. It is becoming a bit too much for this one old fat guy with two bad knees, so I am now humbled enough to plead for a little help. It is an entirely worthwhile and fun thing to do once a year, and you would certainly get a lot of satisfaction from being part of it. I sure do!

Please email me or give me a call if there is anything you would be willing to contribute or help with. My cell # is (757) 329-6879.

Thanks a million in advance, guys!

Mike Prunty
