February Fun at your Library

January 30, 2013

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February may be the shortest month of the year, but it's packed full of activities at your York County Public Libraries. Best of all, they're free!
Join us for a special Valentine's Day Story Time on Saturday, February 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Tabb Library or 1 p.m. at the Yorktown Library.  Children, ages 3 and up, will enjoy stories, songs and a craft. Registration is not required.
We'll supply the Legos, and you bring the imagination on Monday, February 11, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Tabb Library's monthly program for Lego lovers ages 6-12.  Registration is currently underway.  Class size is limited to 25.  Please note that parents of children under 10 must stay in the library during the program.  Contact the Tabb Youth Services Department at 757-890-5110 for more information and to register.
On Saturday, February 16, the Teen Advisory Board is hosting a book sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Tabb Library meeting room.  Hardcover books are 50 cents, and paperback books are 25 cents.  Hundreds of used books in a variety of genres for all ages are available.  All proceeds will go to Operation Gratitude to aid in the cost of shipping care packages to U.S. Service members.
Teens, ages 13-18, are invited to join the Teen Book Club.  Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Tabb Youth Services Activity Room.  Read and bring your favorite book on friendship to the February 21 meeting.
