Arrive early for July 4th fireworks and evening activities
The 33rd annual Yorktown Fourth of July fireworks display promises to light up the sky over the York River beginning at 9:15 p.m.
The best viewing area is along the Yorktown waterfront. The Beach Picnic Area will be open to the public but not to vehicular traffic on July 4. Please note that the Victory Monument area will NOT be available as a viewing area, to host a concert or offering concessions this year. All activities will take place along the Yorktown waterfront.
Visitors are urged to arrive in Yorktown before 6 p.m. for the fireworks show due to heavy traffic volumes. Once the parking area has reached capacity, the entire town will be closed to vehicular traffic.
In addition to several Yorktown restaurants, food concessions will be offered along the Yorktown Waterfront on Chischiak Green by D.A.R.E. from 4:30 to 10 p.m.
Visitors arriving early for the fireworks show are encouraged to enjoy the following activities:
- 4 p.m.: Event Parking opens Corner of Cook Road and Ballard Street
- 4:30 p.m.: Food Concessions by D.A.R.E open at Chischiak Green
- 7 p.m.: Sounds of Liberty Bell Ringing Ceremony - Riverwalk Landing Stage
