May 10, 2013

FOR RELEASE AT WILL

The York County Public Library recently received a generous book donation from the York Republican Women's Club.  Mary Clark, President, and Pat Barker, Mamie Eisenhower Literacy Committee representative, presented the books to Kevin Smith, York County Public Library Director.
"These books are exceptional additions to our Virginiana collection," said Smith. "We appreciate the support of the York Republican Women's Club."
"First House: Two Centuries with Virginia's First Families" by Mary Miley Theobald is the story of Virginia's Executive Mansion and the families who have lived there since 1813. You'll learn about the history of the house, improvements over the years, ghosts, distinguished visitors, family life and more. The photos and illustrations are must-sees, too. The books are autographed by the author and include an introduction by David Baldacci.
"First House" is now available at your York County Public Library. Visit the Library, call the Reference desk at 890-5120 (Tabb) or 890-5207 (Yorktown) or use the online catalog at http://www.yorkcounty.gov/library to reserve a copy.
