Kayak Rentals at New Quarter Park; Moonlight and Music Jam at New Quarter Park

     Beginning June 2, visitors to New Quarter Park can rent a kayak to use exploring Queens Creek from New Quarter Park! Kayak rentals will be available each Saturday June through October from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (kayaks must returned by 4 p.m.). 
     Kayak rentals cost $35/2 hours per person. Rentals will include kayaks, life jackets and paddles as well as launching assistance for each patron. Staff will be present in the New Quarter Park office to assist all interested patrons. Special family rates are available.

Join us at New Quarter Park on Sunday, June 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for a Moonlight and Music jam session. Musicians and music lovers will share old-time, blues, roots music and more in the picnic shelter area near the parking lot. Bring a guitar, fiddle, or other acoustic instrument and take a turn leading a tune or join in to jam with others. Instrumentalists at all levels and in all genres are welcome. The monthly jam sessions are lead by local instrumentalist and vocalist Joe Duggan.
Toe-tappers and music-loving listeners are also welcome. A limited number of folding chairs are available for musicians. Please consider bringing a lawn chair or blanket for seating. Water, soda, candy, and snacks are available in the park office or you are welcome to pack your picnic basket to enjoy in the park. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
New Quarter Park is located in upper York County at 1000 Lakeshead Drive near the Queen's Lake neighborhood. From the Colonial Parkway, exit at Queen's Lake, turn right, and then turn on Lakeshead Drive and follow the signs to the park. From Interstate 64, take exit 242, Route 199, toward Jamestown, and then exit onto Route 143 West. Travel to the first stop light at Penniman Road and turn right. Turn left on Hubbard Lane and travel to Lakeshead Drive. Turn right and follow the signs to the park.
