Comprehensive Plan Public Meetings

Comprehensive Plan Public Meetings Scheduled

York County is holding two public meetings to discuss and receive input from citizens on the County's Comprehensive Plan, Charting the Course to 2025. The Comprehensive Plan serves as the long-range plan for the physical development of the County. The Code of Virginia requires that comprehensive plans be reviewed periodically, and York County's Plan was last updated by the Board of Supervisors in December 2005. The public meetings will be an opportunity for York County citizens to learn about the current plan and offer their ideas and suggestions for the update. Each meeting will include an informational presentation and an opportunity for residents to review planning maps and talk one-on-one with Planning Commission members and staff about York County planning issues such as land use, housing, transportation, community facilities, economic development, historic resources, and the environment. Both meetings will run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the presentation taking place around 7:15. Dates and locations are below:

York High School Media Center
9300 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown

·        Wednesday, June 6, 2012
