Yorktown Beach picnic area closing Nov. 1; BYOK event at NQP Oct. 20

 

Yorktown Beach picnic area closing for the season November 1

The beach picnic area in Yorktown, located at the intersection of Comte de Grasse and Water Streets, will be closed to the public for the season beginning Thursday, November 1, 2012, and will reopen for the season beginning Monday, April 1, 2013.

FOR RELEASE AT WILL
 
            Bring your own kayak (BYOK) or canoe to New Quarter Park on Saturday, October 20, to paddle on Queen's Creek with park staff. Participants should arrive at 9 a.m. The paddle will last about two hours. The program is free with your own kayak or canoe and open to the public. Kayaks are available to rent. For rental information, call Parks and Recreation by Thursday, October 18.
